Temple Beth Shalom of Orange County, California teams up with Gulen Movement Pacifica Institute for Iftar dinner

June 16, 2017 – Shabbat and Iftar Dinner

We had such an amazing gathering last year,
so we are doing it again!

On June 16 at 6:00 pm we will welcome Pacifica Institute, the Orange County Turkish Muslim Community, to join us for Shabbat. We will be sharing our service and they will be sharing their *Iftar dinner with us.  We will be providing desserts, so we ask that you bring a dessert to share.
We look forward to coming together for an evening of sharing Shabbat, conversation and dinner.
*Iftar (or Fatoor) (Arabic: إفطار‎‎ ʾifṭār – ‘breakfast’) is the evening meal when Muslims end their daily Ramadan fast at sunset.
As the Pacifica Institute will be providing dinner for the whole community, we CANNOT accept RSVPs later than Tuesday, June 14th, since we need to let them know how many people to expect.
In honor of Shabbat, Ramadan and our Guests, we ask that you observe these guidelines:
  • Since it is Ramadan we will not be hosting our regular oneg. We will have a modest oneg of Lemonade and Water at 5:30 pm.
  • This is NOT a BYOB event. Please do NOT bring any alcoholic  beverages.
  • Please be respectful of everyone’s personal space.
